Our celebration of this day was to go up into the forest beyond our house on a hike. First we warmed up by taking the logging road, which has deep ruts from the winter snow melt off, making our way up and around into the thicker forest. We saw moss standing out florescent green against the grey of this overcast day. We smelled the earth as each step stirred up the ground beneath us. Misty rain coming down made everything seem fresh. Waiting on the New Year

Here it is a few day's before the end of this year and the new beginning of this next. Some look to it with dread because of regrets over not doing enough of this past year. Others looks forward with great anticipation because you can begin with a new start. I am looking forward to the new year because I try to live with a glass that is half full. I have greatly enjoyed this year of 2010, but I know I will also greatly enjoy the brand new year 2011.

As I am sitting here listening to Christmas music I am thinking of all those who are away from family and friends, such as our brave and noble military. Not to forget the many who take care of us within our communities like those in the medical field, emergency teams, utility teams, police, fire, and all those businesses who stay open for us. I would like to say a huge THANK YOU!!
